Are golf clubs covered in the boot of my car?

Under home insurance policies you can select specified items to be insured as part of contents cover.

This extends to certain types of sports equipment such as golf clubs.

What happens if you leave your golf clubs in the car and they are stolen from your boot? Are they covered then?

The answer is yes most insurers will provide cover for sports equipment under a home insurance policy provided the car and boot is locked. If the car was left open and the items were taken from the boot it could be a different story and you may need to refer to the policy booklet for exclusions.

When you have expensive sports equipment or jewellery that you want to protect it is probably good practice to read the policy booklet before you select a policy as the level of cover provided may differ between insurers.
